Offered in 33 tire sizes to fit most passenger cars and SUVs. Tire life may be bit lower, as tread depth is 10/32″ when new. The tread pattern sticks more to ice and bites more in snow. The tread design is now directional, which limits tire rotation options if they are wearing unevenly. It runs a bit more quietly than the previous generation. This tire replaced the ExtremeWinterContact in 2014 and offered superior grip in cornering and braking. Mileage warranty extended down to 2/32nd, while industry admits under 4 is a safer limit in winter. Excellent and quiet performance on pavement. Optimized for ice and snow, maybe a bit of a concern with traction in slush and deep snow. A pricier but appreciated product for the consumer. Michelin always hits the spot with ride comfort and superior performance on wet and dry roads. Improved braking on ice and better dry road performance. Directional tire, optimized for snow and ice  it is a no compromise product that remains predictable when pushed to the limit. Bridgestone Blizzak WS 8īridgestone set the pace with the Blizzak early in the 90s, and the WS 80 is the sixth generation. Both Nokian tires are also available in SUV version.

The Hakka 8 is available with or without factory studs, but definitely the trouble-free winter product to buy. Top rated is a terrific trio: the R2 is similar if not better to the WS-80 in certain exercises and the Hakkapeliitta 8. Top Rated Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2 – Hakka 8 Models offered with quieter factory shaped studs are indicated as are those available with retailer mounted and usually noisier conventional studs. Some consumers concerned with country or suburban driving may be looking for studded tires.
